The Cubs were poised to sweep the Royals in Kansas City, but the Royals jumped on Chicago starter Tyler Chatwood from the get go. He was chased by Whit Merrifield and Maikel Franco home runs. Former Cub Jorge Soler provided the cherry on top, a solo shot in the seventh, which put the Royals up 12-0.
